Communio Catholic Prayer

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 17, 2026 · Last updated: October 4, 2026

Who we are

Communio ("we", "us", "our") is a Catholic prayer community app developed by Gilbert Nasr. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Communio app ("the App").

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name via Clerk, our authentication provider. You may optionally add profile information such as a photo or denomination.

User content

Prayer intentions you post and the optional name you choose to display are stored on our servers and shared on the Prayer Wall. Safety reports and user blocks are stored so we can moderate the community.

Support donations

On the web and other permitted surfaces, Communio may open a hosted Whish Money or NOWPayments support page, or display a direct USDT wallet address. These external payment methods are not offered inside the iOS or default Play Store app. Communio does not collect or store card numbers, payment credentials, or wallet private keys. These external providers process payments under their own privacy policies.

On iOS and Android, optional one-time developer support payments use Apple or Google Play in-app purchases managed through RevenueCat. If you open the support screen, RevenueCat uses an anonymous purchase identifier and processes product identifiers, receipts, transaction history and technical app/device information. Network requests reveal your IP address to the providers. Communio does not send prayer intentions, display names, email addresses or Clerk account identifiers to RevenueCat. Your app store handles billing, purchase history and refunds. These payments do not unlock features or represent tax-deductible charitable donations.

Notification data

If you enable notifications, we store a device push token plus language and timezone preferences so messages can be delivered appropriately.

How we use your information

Advertising and tracking

The current release does not use advertising identifiers for tracking and does not show personalised ads.

Android releases with advertising enabled and the separate opt-in iOS advertising test candidate use Google AdMob for non-personalised ads. Such ads may still use identifiers or local storage for delivery, fraud prevention and frequency limits. Communio does not pass prayer intentions, account content or inferred religious beliefs for ad targeting. Where required, consent is collected before requests; changing ad privacy choices stops active placements for the app session. Normal iOS production still excludes AdMob pending native stability validation. An owner-configured iOS consent message may include optional Apple advertising permission; refusing it does not restrict Communio. See Google's privacy policy.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Your rights

To exercise any right, email us at support@communio.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Your app store and RevenueCat purchase records are separate from your Communio account and may remain under their applicable retention requirements after your Communio account is deleted.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you complete the in-app deletion flow, Communio immediately removes your profile, prayer intentions, reports, notification data, blocks, and authentication account.

Children

Communio is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
